Jonathan knows casting, branding, and the audition process firsthand, which is why the coaching goes past posing. Your session opens with a one-hour Zoom branding consultation. We cover how you come across and the roles you’re most likely to book, then build your wardrobe and looks around it.

Sessions are structured around time instead of outfits, so you change as many times as the clock allows. Many photographers cap your looks or charge per change. That pushes actors to play it safe with wardrobe. At SoVane Photography, you don’t pay per outfit.

1.

Arrive at the Long Island City studio

Get settled in where I'll offer water and coffee. And you get to meet Remy.

2.

Review your wardrobe one last time.

A steamer and lint roller are here, so wrinkles are handled before we shoot

3.

Time is spent in the chair if you've added hair and makeup

This does not count toward your 90 minutes.

4.

Shoot your first look, then keep changing until the 90 minutes are up

We review images throughout the session to make sure we're capturing exactly what we set out to achieve, so you leave confident in your headshots

Truly one of the best headshot sessions I’ve ever had!

Samantha Simone
Blue Bloods, FBI, Townhouse Confidential

Working with Jon... lent itself to a certain ease of communication... He just has an intuition... and he was VERY PATIENT.

Jimmy Brooks
Law & Order, Blacklist, Elementary, Power, Madam Secretary

This shoot was a favorite of mine! Jon made everything so easy, and I felt so comfortable in front of the camera. I couldn’t be happier with my photo

"I don't know what to wear."

That's what the Zoom consult is for. Your welcome email covers wardrobe too, and we review it again before we shoot.

"I've had headshots taken and hated them."

Usually that comes down to a session where nobody asked who you are or what you're up for. Every session here opens with that conversation.

"How many looks do I need?"

It depends on your brand and where you sit in the market. Bring more than you think. We'll sort it in the consult, and you won't pay per outfit.

"Is 90 minutes enough?"

Enough for several strong looks with time to warm up. Nobody's best frame is their first, which is why the session isn't 15 minutes.

"My current photos don't look like me anymore."

Then it's time. Casting expects the person in the photo to walk through the door.

"Do you do reshoots?"

My process is designed to prevent the need for reshoots. Through your Branding Consultation, expression coaching, and reviewing images together during the session, we ensure we're creating exactly what you need before you leave the studio. In the rare event of a technical issue, I'll take care of it.

"Is my deposit refundable?" (cancellation and rescheduling policy)

Life happens. Your 30% deposit is fully refundable if you cancel at least 7 days before your session. If you need to reschedule, you may transfer your deposit to a new session date one time with at least 72 hours' notice. Cancellations made within 7 days or rescheduling requests made with less than 72 hours' notice will result in the forfeiture of your deposit.
